How Add-ons Work
Add-ons are supplementary features or resources that extend your VPS beyond its base plan. They are:
- Billed separately from your base plan, typically on a monthly or usage-based basis.
- Attachable and removable — Add them when you need them, remove them when you do not.
- Per-server — Each add-on is associated with a specific server.
Adding an Add-on to Your Server
The add-on is typically activated within minutes. Some add-ons (like additional storage) may require a brief server configuration step.
Available Add-ons
Additional Storage
If your server's base storage is not enough, add extra disk space without upgrading your entire plan.
- Use cases: Growing databases, media storage, log files, large application data.
- Options: Additional NVMe SSD storage in various increments (e.g., 50 GB, 100 GB, 250 GB, 500 GB).
- How it works: The additional storage is attached to your server as an extra volume. You may need to mount and format it from the command line.
Automated Backups
Protect your data with scheduled automatic backups managed by Data Mammoth.
- Use cases: Disaster recovery, data protection, compliance with backup requirements.
- Options: Daily, weekly, or custom backup schedules. Multiple retention periods (e.g., keep last 7 daily backups, last 4 weekly backups).
- How it works: Backups are taken automatically on the configured schedule. You can restore from any backup point through the dashboard.

Additional IPv4 Addresses
Each VPS comes with one dedicated IPv4 address. Additional addresses are available if you need more.
- Use cases: Hosting multiple websites with separate IPs, SSL certificate requirements, IP-based access controls, running services on dedicated IPs.
- Options: Additional IPv4 addresses in increments of one or more.
- How it works: Additional IPs are assigned to your server and can be configured from the command line or through your server's network settings.
IPv6 Subnet
Get a block of IPv6 addresses for your server.
- Use cases: Future-proofing your network configuration, IPv6-native applications, hosting environments that require IPv6 support.
- How it works: An IPv6 subnet is assigned to your server. You configure the addresses on your network interface.
Enhanced DDoS Protection
All Data Mammoth servers include baseline DDoS protection. The enhanced DDoS protection add-on provides:
- Higher mitigation capacity — Handles larger volumetric attacks.
- Application-layer filtering — Protects against layer 7 attacks (HTTP floods, slowloris, etc.).
- Faster detection — Reduced time-to-mitigation for attack detection.
- Use cases: High-profile websites, e-commerce platforms, gaming servers, and any service likely to be targeted by DDoS attacks.
Monitoring and Alerting
While basic monitoring is included with your VPS, the enhanced monitoring add-on provides:
- Granular metrics — More detailed CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network metrics with higher resolution.

Removing an Add-on
Warning: Removing some add-ons (like additional storage) may require you to migrate data off the add-on volume first. Removing automated backups stops future backups but may retain existing backup snapshots for a limited time.
Add-on Pricing
Add-ons are priced separately from your base VPS plan. Pricing details are shown during the add-on selection process and on your monthly invoice. Common pricing models:
