If you no longer need a Data Mammoth service, you can cancel your subscription through the dashboard. This guide explains the cancellation process, timing options, and what happens to your service and billing after cancellation.

Cancellation Timing Explained
End of Billing Period
- Your service continues to function normally until the paid period ends.
- No refund is issued since you use the service through the end of the period.
- No further renewal invoices are generated.
- On the expiration date, the service is deactivated.
Immediate Cancellation
- The service is deactivated immediately.
- Depending on the service type and our refund policy, you may receive a prorated credit for the unused portion of the billing period.
- Data deletion begins promptly.
What Happens After Cancellation

| Cancellation confirmed | You receive a confirmation email. Service status changes to "Cancelling" or "Pending Cancellation." |
| Service deactivation | At the effective date, the service stops. Servers are powered off, add-ons are disabled. |
| Data retention | Data may be retained briefly for safety, but is not guaranteed. |
| Permanent deletion | All data associated with the cancelled service is permanently deleted. This is irreversible. |
Reversing a Cancellation
If you change your mind before the cancellation takes effect:
Once the service has been deactivated and data deleted, reversal is not possible. You would need to order a new service.

Server Subscriptions

Add-ons
Add-ons (backups, additional IPs, DDoS protection) can be cancelled independently from the main service:
Managed Services
If you have a managed services subscription, cancelling returns your server to unmanaged status. Our team will no longer perform updates, monitoring, or maintenance.
Billing After Cancellation
- No new invoices — Future renewal invoices are not generated.
- Outstanding invoices — Any existing unpaid invoices must still be paid.
- Refunds — Available only according to our refund policy. See Refund Policy & How to Request a Refund.
- Account credit — In some cases, a credit may be applied to your account for use on other services.
Common Questions
Can I pause a subscription instead of cancelling?
Currently, subscriptions cannot be paused. You can stop a server to reduce usage but the subscription continues. If you need a break, contact support to discuss options.
Will I be charged after cancelling?
No new charges are applied after cancellation takes effect. Any charges incurred before the cancellation date are still valid.
Can I cancel and resubscribe later?
Yes. You can order a new service at any time. However, data from the cancelled service will not be available — you would start fresh.
